Healthcare is an ever changing industry, which brings many challenges in the management of many areas of healthcare organizations. One thing that is constant in healthcare is people. People in healthcare organizations are a huge asset, but they can also be a bad investment if they are not on boarded to the organization with the appropriate processes or they are not managed properly throughout their employment. Additionally, with the growth and demands that are placed on healthcare organizations and the caregivers that work in the field were experiencing issues related to compensation, performance management, organization development, safety, wellness, benefits, employee motivation and training. Through the work of George Elton Mayo, the father of human resource management, investigating how workers were affected by fatigue, work hours and breaks and its impact on staff turnover on the labor industry correlated with the work environments in healthcare (Pastore & Clavelle, 2017). Upon the realization of the increase in staff turnover related to work conditions, healthcare gradually adopted human resources into organizations related to economic instabilities, healthcare regulations and a limited number of experienced personnel (Russell, 2017). So at the Beginning of the mid-20th century human resources partnered with healthcare to improve the healthcare work environments and patient care through effective personnel management (Pastore & Clavelle, 2017). The importance of the presence and partnership between healthcare human resources, and healthcare leaders, is more important than ever to ensure organizational success in the deliveries of services (Pastore & Clavelle, 2017). The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that in 2010 there were 71,800 human resource managers in America, and can only conclude that number has grown over the past few years (Russell, 2017). But what impacts does this partnership provide for healthcare? What ways does the relationship of human resources and healthcare partner together to create balance and synergy in the workplace? The role of human resources is to oversee employee administrative affairs in an organization, such as staffing and placement, legal and contracts affairs, management of employees and decision making (Russell, 2017). The course will look into the benefits, practices, impact and challenges of human resources on healthcare.

Staffing and Placement
Healthcare facilities face the challenge of staffing their organization with personnel that are the right fit skill and educational level or even the right organizational fit. One of the roles of human resources is to organize and conduct the selection of appropriate candidates for such positions based on the healthcare organizations need (Russell, 2017). Additionally human resources advise the healthcare management on employee pay and benefits for both recruits and existing employees (Russell, 2017). Human resources ensures that newly-hired personnel acquires the necessary labor certificates from the U.S. Department of Labor, work visas from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and required licenses or certificates required by the positions job description (Russell, 2017). This is a key element in the partnership with human resources and healthcare management to streamline to aid in state and accreditation surveys to ensure all employees in the organizations have the required credentialing documentation to show they are adequate to perform their job duties.
